Make breakfast a festive fun time with Kellogg’s limited edition holiday Rice Krispies and Elf on the Shelf cereals.
Rice Krispies were invented in Michigan, USA, by William Keith Kellogg and first released to the public in 1928. The popular Snap, Crackle and Pop characters first appeared in radio jingles in 1932. A year later, a baker’s-hat-wearing gnome appeared on packaging introducing Snap to the British public. The animated mascots were created by illustrator Vernon Grant in 1938-39 and the slogan was fully in use by 1939, advertising the cereal as staying “crackly crisp in milk or cream… not mushy.”
