Founded in 2019 by brothers Nicolas and Stéphan Lavoie from Montreal, Quebec, Sober Carpenter was born out of a personal lifestyle shift. As the brothers began exploring moderation, they noticed a major gap in the market: while traditional beer offered a rich, complex experience, non-alcoholic options were often lacking in flavour and quality. Rather than compromise, they saw an opportunity to bring true craft brewing to the alcohol-free world.
After five years in the business, Sober Carpenter has grown into one of Canada’s leading non-alcoholic breweries. Their secret is a dedication to traditional craft brewing methods — using malted barley and hops with time-honoured fermentation techniques — paired with cutting-edge technology that gently removes the alcohol without compromising taste.
