In 2015, Texan founder Allison Ellsworth was ready to break up with soda. She loved the taste, but didn’t love how it made her feel. So she got to work in her kitchen, mixing fruit juices and sparkling water. She bottled her fizzy creation, taking it to a local farmers’ market, where a Whole Foods buyer stopped by, took one sip, and instantly knew a soda star was born. Next thing she knew, she was on Shark Tank, making a deal with The Brandfather, Rohan Oza. After a bold rebrand and a fresh new name, Poppi was officially born. With expansion into Canada in 2023 and acquisition by PepsiCo in 2025, Poppi is a meteoric business success story.
