Canadian-grown, nutrient-dense ingredients and gourmet recipes, flavoured only with aromatic herbs and spices, make Mitchell’s meals both healthy and hearty, nourishing and filling, for the whole family. Save time meal planning and prepping; each package contains all the pre-measured and dried ingredients, so all you have to do is prep veggies and cook. With up to 10 servings per bag, they are budget-friendly with far better value-for-money for the convenience than takeout.

How Mitchell’s meals work:

  1. Choose your meal.
Go for the comfort of classic soups and stews, spice things up with a dahl, or eat your greens with an ancient grain salad.
  2. Choose your veggies.
Each recipe calls for minimal meal prep with only a handful of veggies to slice and dice or opt for frozen or canned veggies to get dinner on the table fast.
  3. Choose your cooking method.
Stovetop isn’t the only way! Set it and forget it with a slow cooker or Instant Pot and have it ready for your return from work or school.

Mitchell’s Soup Co. is a multi-generational and multi-family enterprise.

It all started with the matriarch, Donna. In preparation for the impending Y2K apocalypse, she stocked up on dried goods for the Lockhart family. But when the clock struck midnight and the world kept turning, she had to do something with her emergency supplies. So, she started filling them in cellophane bags to sell as ready-to-cook soups at her local farmer’s market soap stand —yes, soap not soup! — up-island, in Duncan.

Fast forward to 2008: Donna’s son Jamie inherited her humble soap-turned-soup stand. What started as a family project to teach Jamie’s four kids life skills turned into a passion project. Jamie loved crafting products that nourished the body and soul, and so Mitchell’s Soup Co. was officially born. 2012 brought expansion from a cottage production kitchen to a new 5000 sq.ft. facility in Duncan and in 2017, further production facilities in Ontario alongside partnership with the Faris Family. Today, the business is a collaboration of three generations of each family!
