Award-winning coffee blends three generations of artisan Italian tradition with four decades of West Coast culture.
In 1984, founder and Master Roaster Francesco Curatolo brought 75 years of Italian roasting and blending expertise to Vancouver, Canada, garnering a worldwide reputation for his exquisitely crafted Italian coffees. Present owner and Master Roaster Brian Turko was born and raised in Vancouver’s Little Italy neighbourhood and discovered espresso bars — specifically Milano Coffee – in the 1980s. This was the beginning of a special relationship between teacher and student, resulting in a 15 year mentorship under Francesco.
Milano has garnered international acclamation, winning 15 gold medals in the IIAC International Institute of Coffee Tasters. Milano is a fervent supporter of small farm estate, fair trade and organically grown coffees. At any given time, there is up to 70% organically grown coffee beans in each blend.
