Imported from Italy, we now carry Saputo specialty cheese wedges of Pecorino Romano, Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano.
In 1954, the Saputo family brought the tradition of Italian cheese-making to Canada. In those early years, young Lino Saputo delivered the handmade cheeses via bicycle! While the company has grown, it still maintains a strong artisan spirit with a focus on quality, specialty cheese.
You can find these Saputo’s specialty cheese wedges across from our Deli counter:
- Pecorino Romano, made from sheep’s milk and aged for a minimum of 5 months, has a distinct, zesty taste.
- Grana Padano, aged for a minimum of 12 months, has a mild/subtle savoury taste and is a delicious addition to pastas and sauces.
- Parmigiano Reggiano, expertly aged for a minimum of 18 months, has a full-flavoured rich, fruity taste with a hint of hazelnut. Savour it on its own with a touch of quality balsamic vinegar or finely grated over pasta.
